About Me

I am the Healthcare Provider of the AHF Healthcare Center - Biscayne. Coming for a family of poor farm workers and salaried employees, since I was a little kid, Biology and Medical Sciences have been two of my biggest passions; helping people in need and making a positive impact on their lives, one of my strongest commitments. After finishing the medical school in Cuba, I became a Cardiologist, but I never stopped being attracted to the infectious diseases’ management. I always found the way of combining the study of those two specialties during more than 17 years of medical practice in my country of origin. I left Cuba and came to this land of opportunities to escape the oppression and suffocating restrictions, in pursue of economic stability, possibilities for personal development and professional growth, and freedom of action and expression in every way.

Working as a Medical Case Manager in USA during more than a decade for three different programs HIV-related, after so many years of medical practice and some clinical experience on the STIs/HIV-AIDS care in Cuba and abroad, has giving me a good level of understanding of this country's medical system and a solid knowledge about the management of those diseases. Being part of the AHF staff in Miami since 2014 has provided the opportunity to enjoy the mix and diversity this cosmopolitan city offers and to work with the underserved people in need that form so many minorities, that I also belong to, at the same time. Making a positive impact in those patients’ lives and improving their health outcomes is one of my main motivations as Nurse Practitioner. My solid purpose to keep fighting against the spread of the HIV/AIDS/STIs and their consequences in our community could not be better achieved outside this amazing company that I feel very proud of being part..

Fun Fact: I love traveling and being in direct contact with nature and people from different latitudes, cities, and countries; getting knowledgeable about their music, food, culture and customs pleases me as much as observing their architecture and wildlife. Spending good-quality time with family and friends, reading a good book, or watching a movie turns me on as much as walking or bicycling outside, or going to the beach in a sunny day. I enjoy to volunteer in favor of any noble cause. I also really love eating and trying diverse types of food each time; my favorites: Cuban and Peruvian. I can kill for dark chocolate, a piece of cake, or even for one of those little cups of Cuban coffee. My favorite type of music entails Romantic Pop and Salsa, including Marc Anthony. I always advocate and volunteer in favor of the LGBTQ+ community and people living with HIV. I openly stand against hate, violence, segregation, and any type of discrimination and in favor of the Nature, the animals, the human rights, the respect for difference and the enjoyment of diversity.
