Sheetal (Bêau) Sharma, MD

About Me

I am a Medical Doctor at AHF Healthcare Center: Northpoint.  Though I began my journey with HIV Positive patients at University of London hospitals in London UK 1986, I first witnessed undiagnosed patients in Kenya prior to my time at the university. I was intrigued by the manifestations of the disease involving multiple organs at the same time. While the road to care was complex, the lighting up of their eyes and expressions of hope to get better when I saw them, compelled me to do everything within my power to improve their quality of life, their health and help remove the stigma attached to their overall appearance. I want to work with AHF, because my goals and mission are very similar. And I have done groundbreaking work in the USA and Internationally to help absolutely anyone in need of my skills. Having been educated and worked as a doctor in Kenya, London, UK , Montreal , Canada and fellowship trained at University of Miami, I would like to do as much as possible for AHF moving forward to achieve even more support and advocacy.

I also treat hepatitis, sexually acquired infections , LBGTQ and mens health, general internal Medicine in HIV / Non HIV in the LBGTQ individuals. I am on the advisory board of Re HIV and frequently give talks and presentations to physicians, medical personnel locally and in the USA .

Fun Fact: I enjoy swimming and working out. Also, I’m very fond of watching commercial international planes and studying the different models. I am also an avid traveller around the USA, Canada, Europe and Africa; constantly adding more countries to my bucket list. I’m looking forward to doing volunteer work at AHF events as well. My patients and friends regard me as very kind and with a soothing voice, because I prefer to explain things in a manner anyone can easily understand. Lastly, I have had the honor to present at International meetings in Europe and in the USA regarding HIV and renal transplants.
