Sheetal (Bêau) Sharma, MD
I am a Medical Doctor at AHF Healthcare Center: Northpoint. Though I began my journey with HIV Positive patients at University of London hospitals in London UK 1986, I first witnessed undiagnosed patients in Kenya prior to my time at the university. I was intrigued by the manifestations of the disease involving multiple organs at the same time. While the road to care was complex, the lighting up of their eyes and expressions of hope to get better when I saw them, compelled me to do everything within my power to improve their quality of life, their health and help remove the stigma attached to their overall appearance. I want to work with AHF, because my goals and mission are very similar. And I have done groundbreaking work in the USA and Internationally to help absolutely anyone in need of my skills. Having been educated and worked as a doctor in Kenya, London, UK , Montreal , Canada and fellowship trained at University of Miami, I would like to do as much as possible for AHF moving forward to achieve even more support and advocacy.
I also treat hepatitis, sexually acquired infections , LBGTQ and mens health, general internal Medicine in HIV / Non HIV in the LBGTQ individuals. I am on the advisory board of Re HIV and frequently give talks and presentations to physicians, medical personnel locally and in the USA .
Fun Fact: I enjoy swimming and working out. Also, I’m very fond of watching commercial international planes and studying the different models. I am also an avid traveller around the USA, Canada, Europe and Africa; constantly adding more countries to my bucket list. I’m looking forward to doing volunteer work at AHF events as well. My patients and friends regard me as very kind and with a soothing voice, because I prefer to explain things in a manner anyone can easily understand. Lastly, I have had the honor to present at International meetings in Europe and in the USA regarding HIV and renal transplants.

I advocated for the use of Trogarzo, a monoclonal antibody in the first successful kidney transplant in an HIV positive patient. I was invited to present my discovery at the 20th European HIV/Hepatitis Meeting in Paris in July 2022. I was also approached to showcase this breakthrough at the British Kidney Week Conference in Birmingham, UK. This became the world's first operation and the success has opened many doors for other organ transplant procedures to utilize Trogarzo. I had the pleasure to participate in a town hall meeting and TV interviews in West Palm Beach regarding Monkeypox and other diseases of concern in HIV positive patients. In 2020 I was a TV guest speaker with Mayor Dean Trantalis and Dr. Stephen Renee in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Furthermore, I created poster presentations at ACTHIV in Denver, Colorado. I received accolades for Outstanding Commitment to care to the HIV community from the World’s AIDS Museum and CBS News, Miami. Also, my work and I were featured in the 2006 issue of The International Association of Physicians in AIDS CARE ( IAPAC ) Journal headquarters in Chicago. And in 2005 I was presented with the Outstanding Physician award in Broward County for Matchless Dedication to patient care along with a Proclamation from The Board of County Commissioners. And I’m honored to share that September 18th 2005 was designated Dr. Sheetal Sharma Appreciation Day; a wonderful recognition by the Class of Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern University for my endless dedication in furthering education by the Residency Program. And recognition from the Ft Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, the Fulgencio Aponte Leadership Award by HIV Latin Community Chair of Broward County.
