About Me

I am the Medical Director of the AHF Healthcare Center - Biscayne, Fort Myers, Northpoint, and Jacksonville. HIV medicine became my focus, quite by accident, when I was recruited in 2014 to take over an HIV clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. I was initially somewhat intimidated by HIV medicine, but decided to take on the role as a medical director of that clinic after completing the AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) Program in 2014. This program adequately prepared me for my role as an HIV clinician, and exposed me to a part of medicine that expanded the focus of my primary care practice. I chose AHF after my time at Jackson Memorial Hospital because I wanted to be a part of an organization that practiced quality HIV care and placed an emphasis on treating patients regardless of the ability to pay. This appealed to me, as my interest and focus has already been underserved medicine.

Fun Fact: I am an avid puzzle solver, with a lot of my free time spent deciphering a variety of puzzles, riddles, and word games. I also do volunteer work such as catering to our underserved/homeless population in Miami, FL through my church's outreach program, which entails travel to areas with dense homeless populations to distribute food, clothing, etc.
