About Me

Bernadette Dolce, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, AAHIVS, is a Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She provides care at AHF's Queens Healthcare Center and Brooklyn Healthcare Center in New York.

Dr. Dolce earned her Associate Degree in Nursing Science from Kingsborough Community College in 1999, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 2002, and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from SUNY Downstate in 2005. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky in 2025.

She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner clinical training through NYC Health + Hospitals, including Woodhull Hospital and the VA Hospital at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, New York. She is licensed to practice in New York and is credentialed as an HIV Specialist™ (AAHIVS) by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
As part of her academic work, Dr. Dolce presented an HIV-focused project at Frontier Nursing University.

Dr. Dolce believes HIV medicine extends far beyond traditional healthcare. It allows her to build long-term, meaningful relationships with patients while helping transform what was once a fatal diagnosis into a highly manageable chronic condition.

She is passionate about HIV care because it combines clinical medicine with public health, human rights, advocacy, and reducing stigma. Her approach emphasizes prevention, chronic disease management, and addressing the social determinants of health that influence patient outcomes.

She chose to join AIDS Healthcare Foundation because its mission and vision closely align with her own commitment to providing compassionate, exceptional, patient-centered care.

Outside of work, Dr. Dolce enjoys traveling both locally and internationally and exploring new cultures and experiences.
