About Me
Advances in medicine have changed the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from a disease that was presumed to be fatal to an infection that today can be more of a chronic manageable disease, a welcome advance offering new hope to many people living with HIV or AIDS. I am excited to be in a position rendering further assistance to HIV patients who rely on evidence-based medical care and education that empowers them to make more informed decisions about their own health care and wellbeing. Working at AHF avails me the opportunity to offer innovative care that HIV patients desperately need regardless of their ability to pay. AHF provides me the opportunity to care for people from all walks of life, socio-economic status, educational backgrounds, ethnicity, and gender without discrimination. This concept is at the core of my personal beliefs and my professional nursing commitment and ethical practices, giving me a far greater sense of fulfilment in my career.
Fun Fact: I have remained a member of a choir for many years therefore enjoy singing. I sing at my church and for performances. I travel for medical volunteer work and to educate caregivers at leprosy colonies in Africa though an organization; the Limitless Compassionate Ministry located in Houston. I look forward to extending this commitment to HIV /AIDS centers in Africa, and help identify barriers to care and prevention to focus more effort on breaking those barriers.
