About Me

I am a provider of the AHF Healthcare Center: Mobile Clinic. I provide HIV care and primary care with a focus on prevention, treatment, education, and reducing stigma. I began learning about AIDS in 1982 after returning from Kenya, started caring for people with HIV as a registered nurse in 1989, and have served as a nurse practitioner since 2011. I’m proud to be part of AHF.

My experience includes sexually transmitted infections (STIs), women’s health, and comprehensive primary care. While at the University of Miami, I participated in clinical trials and research as an RN. I speak Kiswahili and conversational Spanish.

I’m also interested in complementary and integrative approaches, working with patients to incorporate the healing practices they value. Outside the clinic, I enjoy yoga, traveling, outdoor activities, and volunteering to help make our world better for future generations.

My path into healthcare started in 1981 with a deep interest in becoming a midwife. I trained alongside midwives and traditional healers in Kenya, and later experienced a home birth in New York, supported by a Certified Nurse Midwife.
