About Me

I am the Doctor of Dental Surgery of the AHF Healthcare Centers: Westside. I chose to practice HIV medicine because, as a gay man, I saw how HIV affected my friends and community throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. In the early 2010s, two close friends were diagnosed with HIV. At the time, I was a registered nurse with only basic training in HIV care, and they turned to me for support and answers. Those conversations made me realize I wanted to deepen my expertise, not only for my patients, but for the broader LGBTQ+ community.

While pursuing my master’s and doctoral studies at Duke University, I added a specialty in HIV/AIDS to my Family Nurse Practitioner training. I completed that specialty in December 2019, when I earned my master’s in nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. What began as a personal commitment to friends has become a passion and a calling. I love working in HIV medicine and empowering patients to understand their diagnosis and see that they can live full, healthy lives with HIV.

Outside of work, music is a huge passion of mine. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, hiking, and going to the beach.
